 DallasStarsForever originally opened in spring 1997 as "Chris' Dallas Stars Page" It had no special title, just a few cool javascripts, scores and often updates following every period of every Stars game... thats what made us different, what made us special. Soon the traffic started to build and it was time for me to move this sorted little berg away from it's than angelfire home.  The Site landed at dallasstars.virtualave.net in 1998. It got a much needed face lift and a new name (Shining Dallas Stars)....many of those same design elements are employed on the site today, except the graphics are now cleaner, and the code back then was horrendous.  In spring 1999 something special happened, namezero.com started offering free domain names. A couple days later came dallasstarsforever.com. At this point i had a few very tight partnerships. Some that I remember fondly are Eagle20 from StarsOverdose and Gary Key from StarsRule.com. Eagle20 is actually responsible for the current layout... She designed the original top banner that ended up forcing a redesign to incorporate the increase in width, the rest is history. Gary on the other hand was the kind of Stars rumor... he knew everything and flaunted it.... He moved to phoenix with his wife, the site closed down and i never heard from him again.   Here's the heartbreaker. In 2001 namezero stopped offering free domain names. I would have purchased the domain on my own dime had i known this had changed but they neglected to inform me by any means whatsoever. By the time 2001 was over the domain was no longer in my hands, it had been purchased by an advertising frim who attempted to sell it back to me at rediculous rates. This year (2005) i was registering some domain names and decided to check on my old DSF domain... low and behold the advertisers had given up. I re-registered it in september and started the work up. And here we are. Dallas Stars - Forever. |
